Indigo 3050

Face Creative, London’s most comprehensive digital printing company, operates two HP Indigo 3050s. These machines are sheet fed using SRA3 cut sheets and give a maximum print image area of 440 x 306mm (maximum job size 434 x 300mm).

The Indigo uses four colour liquid ink, with a six colour option, on a work and turn/tumble system, printing approximately 2,000 A4 duplex sheets an hour. As this system uses liquid ink it handles strong flat colours extremely well along with most pastels and tints. The option of two extra colours allows the matching of over 90% of Pantone colours and other specials and a unique spot UV effect.

As the paper is supplied as SRA3 cut sheets substrates are far more diverse than web-fed digital systems, weights ranging from 95gsm to 350gsm and include matt, silk, gloss, trace (simulator), acetate (ideal for OHPs), self-adhesive crack-back and kiss cut labells. Textured stocks are also available in an ever increasing range to special order.

The variable data facility on this system is substantial, allowing virtually unlimited personalisation including pictures, graphics, maps  etc. in full colour as opposed to conventional black overprint only.

Cost viability of full colour digital print as opposed to litho is around a 1,000 copies, depending on the project but when turn around time or personalisation are the criteria this is often negated.

All finishing is completed in-house in our own finishing department which can handle trimming, drilling, stitching, wiro binding, perfect binding, square backs, in fact practically the whole gamut of finishing requirements.

And, like virtually every service at Face Creative, we operate 24 hours a day, five days a week.
